The Speciality of Casio G-Shock

Since many people don't know the speciality of this watch, i would like to share you more things about Casio G-Shock, the toughness watch on earth for me. I dedicated this post to all watch enthusiast whom freaks with this digital watch. Please take a note that this is just my two cent about G-Shock which is came from my point of view.  

Gshock was first introduced to public on April 1983 which is designed by an engineer Kikuo Ibe with the first model was DW-5000C-1A. Since it launched that time, it has broken many people opinion that watch was one of jewelry that has to be handled carefully. Here are three specialities of G-Shock from my point of view:

1.    The strength of G-Shock

Buying G-Shock for me fells buying a watch for a life time. Seriously, even you don’t have to worry when you missed it, this not an expensive watch absolutely even though you will find a few models cost expensively. What is the strength of G-Shock….? You will find a lot of information about G-Shock strength on internet but I will try to summarize them here.

·         Deep water test, every G-Shock watches designed to reach 200m. It could be choice for you who like diving also

·         Piston test and hammer test for the impact test. People said that this video was only for marketing reference. I tried my watch crushed with a 20 ton truck and the watch still find till now.

·         Drop test, this is the most test I often do than others. I sometime throw my G-Shock to the sky when I feel bored to make sure that the watch still strong J 

2.    The Feature of G-Shock

I will share you the feature of G-Shock DW-5600E, in my research probably this is the cheapest G-Shock on store, cmiiw. You can acquire it around 55 usd. The feature as follows:

·         Time display in 12-hour or 24-hour format.

·         Auto-calendar correctly calculates month lengths, leap years and days-of-the-week between 1985 and 2039 (module 1545). Updated calendar in the module 3229 has years between 2000 and 2099.

·         One alarm. An unusual feature is that in addition to the hour and minute, a month and/or date may optionally be set, so the alarm will only sound during the specified month or on the specified day of the month.

·         Time signal (hourly chime.)

·         Countdown timer: Can be set for any duration from one second up to 24 hours, in one-second increments; optional auto-repeat function. The current home time is also displayed in countdown timer mode.

·         Stopwatch: 1/100th second, which measures net time, split time, and first- and second-place times; rolls over at 24 hours.

·         Illumination: Backlight is via Illuminator, an electroluminescent backlight, where a blue/green luminescence makes the whole display visible at any light conditions.

·         Shock-resistant design, intended to survive a 10-meter fall. The new composite-case and steel panel back made the watch about 30% lighter, and better fitted to the wrist.

·         Water resistant 200m.

·         Battery: One lithium button cell, CR2016 (module 1545). Was expected to last two years or more with 3.5 seconds backlight operation and 20 seconds alarm per day.

 Conclusion from this point: You don't have to spend more money to get tough watch with helpful feature for your daily activity.

3.    G-Shock goes to Hollywood

Vintage Casio G-Shock "Mission Impossible" DW-5300

Sports and diets, that was my personal theme along this 2013. Since this two things became my daily activity, i never forget to use G-Shock on my wrist. I do like G-Shock since i was in senior high school and the addiction became more crazy this year. Mission impossible was one of my all time favorite espionage movie, DW-5300 was chosen to accompany Ethan Hunt during all of his mission. Unfortunately we don't find Ethan Hunt wearing G-Shock in MI-4, Ghost Protocol, except his partner Benji who use GX - 56. I do have a DW-5300 before but the condition was poor since the age but i have now in LNIB condition plus the original box... Amazing. The distinction of DW - 5300 was the watch was produced outside Japan, that's why all G-Shock lovers in Japan have to find it overseas. Feature and specification of the watch as follows:

• Time display in 12-hour or 24-hour format. In regular timekeeping mode, the current home time is displayed to the second, along with the month, date, and day of the week, without any button presses.
• Auto-calendar correctly calculates month lengths, leap years and days-of-the-week between 1985 and 2029.
• Alarm: One alarm. An unusual feature is that in addition to the hour and minute, a month and/or date may optionally be set, so the alarm will only sound during the specified month or on the specified day of the month.
• Time signal (hourly chime.)
• Dual time: Hours and minutes can be set separately for a second time zone (seconds are synchronized with the home time.) The current home time is also displayed in dual time mode.
• Countdown timer: Can be set for any duration from one second up to 24 hours, in one-second increments; optional auto-repeat function. The current home time is also displayed in countdown timer mode.
• Stopwatch: 1/100th second, with one split; rolls over at 24 hours.
• Illumination: Backlight is via a tiny incandescent bulb at the left edge of the display.
• Reminder mark: A peculiar feature seldom seen on newer watches, this is a user-enabled display flag which slowly blinks in all modes. It has no function except to serve as a visual reminder to the wearer.
• Shock-resistant design, intended to survive a 10-meter fall.
• Water resistant to 200 meters.
• Battery: One lithium button cell, CR2320 in older models (module 691) or CR2016 in newer models (module 901.) Either was expected to last ten years or more.

Vintage Yema Submariner NOS

Oh my God.... that was the word when the watch reached me. My second Yema after Yachtingraf with NOS condition, unbelievable. Another treasure from france with legendary design. When i turn the manual wind power reserve still reached 48 hours, excelent. Another great watch from Yema. Wearing Rolex Submariner it's a common but wearing Yema Submariner absolutely different than others... :p

Happy Eid Day 1434 H

To all reader and all watch enthusiast i would like to say "Happy Eid Mubarak 1434 H, Minal Aidzin Wal Faidzin, Mohon maaf lahir dan batin." G - Shock GW9000A was chosen to accompany me during this Eid in Pekanbaru. A Very special moment for me, our first Eid with "Najwa" our beloved daughter. :)

Seiko 7A28-703A

Seiko 7A28 impressed British Royal Air Force to make it as their grail watch and they proposed to Seiko to build it with brand RAF which common known as Seiko RAF. You can do googling to know more about Seiko Raf... :) The 3-6-9 chronograph position was very ideal for me plus the pepsi bezel which made this watch eye catching although no longer young but it still looks young right...? :)

Seiko Diver SKX033

This is my first time to have a diver watch with pepsi bezel. "What an eye catching design..." that's most comment i got from people whom have seen this watch. This watch remind me of branded watch with pepsi bezel and his GMT hands, you know what watch i am talking about..., right...? For me, Seiko Diver have own specialty that can count compared than other watch... :)
